I have been so busy the last few weeks with my first wedding cake that I have not had time to crochet. And then when I finished with the cake, my right arm was in bad shape! I honestly think I have a pinched nerve that gets aggrivated when I overuse the arm. My husband literally forbid me to crochet for a week!!! Therefore I have many WIP’s! Here are the two I need to finish quickly!
The first is a diagonal box stitch blanket of which I am testing the pattern. Thank goodness I have another few days or even a week to finish. It’s the pink one.
The second is the Bernat CAL I have been working on since it started on September 22, 2010. We’re given weekly clues to crochet squares then by the end, which was today’s clue, we are given a diagram on how to put the squares together for an afghan. I WILL FINISH – before Christmas as I am making it for someone! Fingers Crossed!
Check em out! Hopefully I will have finished pictures in the near future. You can see all of my projects on Ravelry – finished and unfinished.

Until next time,

Today I took a little time to look through all of the yarn I have collected since I started knitting in 2005 and crocheting in 2010. I have a lot. More than I thought I did. And my new obsession now is cotton yarn! All colors of cotton! It feels so good to crochet with and it’s great for purses, bags, dishcloths, coasters and you name it. Acrylics, etc. are on the left side and all of my cottons are on the right. Told ya I loved my cotton yarn!
I’ve been testing some patterns lately so I am able to use up my stash.
I have also been making 5 & 6 inch squares for our
Gift Of Healing Group on Ravelry.
What is YOUR obsession?

I am a bag-a-holic. I admit it. It is the first step in the 12 step program! I have more Vera Bradley bags than I can count. I have Sac purses, cheap purses, decorative, plain, practical, impractical – you name it I have it. I love bags! My husband knows this and so far he does not mind. Plus I am very frugal when it comes to buying my bags or purses. I will not buy unless they are on sale.
However…..I can now make my own!!!! A few post back I showed everyone the Fat Bottom Bag I crocheted. I love it! But I get bored with my bags so I have to change often.
Well, I was lucky enough to test a pattern for Yasmin on Ravelry. She calls it the Reema Bag as she designed it for her sister who is named Reema. This designer has the most awesome bags! I want to make them all! Anywho ~ here is what I just finished last night! I think I might line it though as some things tend to want to fall out of the holes. What do you think? Can we say Christmas presents!!!!!

Since I have been taking my cake decorating classes, and most recently the fondant and gum paste, Iz has been watching me mold and create flowers. Of course she wanted to do the same thing! I gave her a small bit of my gum paste to play with the other night, so when she asked me the next morning for more I had to say no because it’s not cheap.
That of course caused the light bulb to go off over my head and I searched for a playdough recipe. We found one that is so simple and perfect! She had a blast watching me make it on the stove top. The hardest part is waiting for it to cool off enough to play with and make her own flowers.
She has made snowmen, barbells, used cookie cutters and anything else she could find to mold. Of course it is all dried out now so we will have to make some more. It only takes baking soda, cornstarch and water so it’s a very inexpensive to make!
I hope you will be inspired to make something with your kids too! Creativity is awesome!

I have been cake decorating and crocheting so much lately that I have not blogged.
I just finished Course 2 of Wilton’s Cake Decorating classes and thouroughly enjoy it! I have been sponsored by our lovely teacher, BiancaDesigns, for Course 3 as she was disappointed to hear that Melissa and I could not afford the last class. We all ended up in tears when she did that for us last week!
I have also been doing a lot of crochet. I have finished a purse/bag I made and lined, plus a sun hat for my Aunt. Please see my CraftyChristy site for my crochet and decorating. I plan to showcase on it as well as sell my handmade items, and take special requests.
I am also in a swap group on Ravelry, and we makes 12 inch squares for each other so that by the end of a year we will all have 12 squares and can make an afghan or whatever we desire! I should be receiving squares soon and will share as I get them! I am excited about this project!
