Decorating a cake
I made a cake for one of my mother in law’s friends. I took pictures during the decorating process. It takes a good 4 hours or more ~ believe it or not! And that depends on the size! (Blog via Cake It To The Edge)

I finished the 6 in square with the snapdragon stitch and it turned out pretty! I will post a pic in a project link on Ravelry soon.
On top of my crazy week with the wasp sting, I ended up at urgent care as it looked like it was getting infected and it spread quickly over a 10 x 5 radius just under my right arm to across to my breast. It looks like a beast! Got a big dose of something in a shot, antibiotics, cream and a by mouth steroid. It is feeling better – I am not clawing -but it still looks horrendous!
Plus I am making my biggest cake
yet for my MIL’s church. They are having a reception this weekend for the Bishop of one of the bigger Episcopal church’s and they asked me to make the cake
– for 150!! I will have the Episcopal shield as its main centerpiece! I will post pics when its finished later this week!
So what is everyone else up to?

I have been cake decorating and crocheting so much lately that I have not blogged.
I just finished Course 2 of Wilton’s Cake Decorating classes and thouroughly enjoy it! I have been sponsored by our lovely teacher, BiancaDesigns, for Course 3 as she was disappointed to hear that Melissa and I could not afford the last class. We all ended up in tears when she did that for us last week!
I have also been doing a lot of crochet. I have finished a purse/bag I made and lined, plus a sun hat for my Aunt. Please see my CraftyChristy site for my crochet and decorating. I plan to showcase on it as well as sell my handmade items, and take special requests.
I am also in a swap group on Ravelry, and we makes 12 inch squares for each other so that by the end of a year we will all have 12 squares and can make an afghan or whatever we desire! I should be receiving squares soon and will share as I get them! I am excited about this project!

We went to see Shrek Forever After. It was really cute and Isabelle enjoyed it a lot. We just had a Shrek/McDonalds House Party which was a lot of fun. House Party sent us a lot of great stuff for a get together ~ Shrek 3 DVD, Shrek plates, cups, glasses like the ones at McDonald’s, a gift card to get McD’s nuggets and other food, Happy Meal boxes and Shrek Happy Meal toys. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed all the great things House Party and McDonalds sent us. Check them out and sign up! There are always great parties/events to apply for as a host!

And lastly, I finished my first course with Wilton’s Cake Decorating. Melissa and I took it at the Hobby Lobby and really enjoyed it! It gives me a whole new appreciation for all those decorated cakes I have bought over the last few years!

It will be another busy week with the kids getting out of school. We’ll have 2 months of summer and then they will be back. One in middle school, one in high school and the little one starting Pre-K! Wow!
